Submitting Shona Words
Help increase the Shona word list in the database for these Shona Language pages by submitting additional words I omitted and their meanings. Omissions include instances where I did not cover all possible meanings of a word where corresponding English words exist. This also includes words where there are errors in definition and/or usage. In that case, treat the word as a new word and include all possible meanings for the word in question. If there are Shona words I omitted and you think they should be included in the Shona words list, follow the suggestion below.

Common words of foreign origin such as "bhureke" (small metal container with a handle and generally used for carrying liquids), "chigubhu" (canvas water cooler), "manyatera", "kwirimba", "fadhuku", etc., will also be considered if one would be hard pressed to find Shona equivalents. We need words applicable to every day conversational Shona or in story telling.

We are currently considering words beginning with letters a through m.

The "Used AS" and "Dialect" field shown in the table below are not critical. Add if available for completeness. You can attach the file to an email when done and I will include the words as soon as I can. I am not even halfway done putting words in the basic database. This is why there is a restriction on words being considered. Check from time to time for I will be expanding the list.

Please note that the Shona word submittal covered above also applies to English words that were omitted or where corresponding Shona words exist for the omitted English word. Errors in definition and/or usage should follow the same procedure outlined above.
